What is Bookkeeping? Your business or organization “books” are simply your financial records. These are records of every financial transaction in a given period; generally books are kept and reported on monthly. The books for a fiscal year are then used by an Accountant to file the business’ taxes.
Personal, individual, and household finances are not generally referred to as “books.” However, for some people, referring to personal financial records as in more formal terms helps them take their financial life seriously by centering intentional spending decisions and the accumulation of wealth.
